American Girl Samantha 1988 Meet Accessories with Rare Original Embroidery Handkerchief. Also includes the pin still on the 1986 copyright card. The pin has more defined engraving than the later versions. In 1988, the pink purse was redesigned. It is longer and not as full as the 1986 purse. The lining which was blue in 1986 goes to pink. Later versions the lining is nearly white. The clasp and chain are the same. In 1991, the purse gets redesigned again and is 1/4" longer and flat. The hat has the pink ribbon around the brim. Later hats do not have that ribbon. The circle of ribbon is loose and frequently fall to the back with the rest of the ribbon. It could be tacted back in place but I have not done that. The box has spots on both side of the box under the band were the color was rubbed off. See the close up I have included. The original 1980s tissue is still inside.
