Description
The oldest doll in my wife's collection, this Pleasant Company Samantha is from circa 1989 (considered "transitional" as this was the model made when the company first shifted from white to tan bodied dolls). Samantha is still in all her original pieces made in Germany (first-version black tights, black shoes, meet dress with 1986 tag, hair ribbon, bloomers). Her eyes are her standout feature. I have tried to capture with photos the deep richness of her eyes which is distinctly different from the 90's Samanthas. She also has the "spider eyelashes" that disappeared with the 90's models (they match the type used for the white-bodied dolls).Samantha will come with her hat, purse, and embroidered hankie as well. Her hair is drying but still has its original curls. She has long neck strings, no body tag, and Pleasant Company high on the back of her neck. Her wig is the original style with the short hairs covering the stamp on her neck. This doll has been well taken care of.
This Samantha is special and we hope to see her go to a collector. Please ask us any questions you might have about her. Thank you for looking and have a great day.
