Samantha’s Middy Outfit ( Summer Outfit ) features Nature Paraphernalia Kit
The Middy outfit/ Summer outfit
was introduced to Samantha’s collection in
1988
and
then retired in 2008. It is associated with the book “Samantha Saves The Day”.
Dress-
Long sleeved white middy dress with sailor collar. Pleated skirt with four decorative buttons. Elastic lining at waistband. Black braid trim on collar and sleeves. Embroidered black anchor on front and stars on collar. Attached crest on right sleeve.   Velcros up the back and at sleeves with snap at waistband.
Tam-
White sailor tam. Black grosgrain ribbon brim and knot.
Shoes-
Black and white high button shoes; one button missing. Black toes and heel.Four functional white buttons on side. Note … one of the shoes is missing a button.
Whistle-
Brass shiny bo's'n's (boatswain's) whistle.This was phased out of the outfit sometime in 2005 and becomes difficult to find. These items were originally purchased in 2001.
The Nature Paraphernalia Kit was introduced in 1987 and retired in 1997. It is also featured in Samantha’s book “Samantha Saves the Day”.
The kit includes the following: Basket with leather arm straps, Butterfly net with pole handle, several butterflies …eastern tiger swallowtails and monarch butterflies. Stemmed Black-Eyed Susan flowers; some missing eyes, magnifying glass with cord, wood flower press.
