. The reason for the odd shape is that the bottle could lie down in a tilted position so that a baby could drink from the bottle while holding it (tilted) on its chest.

There are not a lot of western nursing bottles especially put out by a Baby Products Co. vs. a drug store.  Most of the bottles you do see like this just have the embossed measurements, NOT the embossed advertising on the front let alone a name like 'Baby Jane'.  What else is unique about this bottle is its design or shape, as it is embossed, "IT TILTS".  But it must not been too popular as it is a not a commonly seen bottle meaning that there were not a lot of them made.  These originally took a rubber nipple with a base like the base of a balloon that fit tightly over the mouth and neck of the bottle.  This is one of the styles of nursing bottles that replaced the old 'turtle' shaped nursing bottles, once it was found out that the 'turtle' nursing bottles presented a
hygienic problem.  Actually, the whole bottle is rather unique as we've not seen another
