    Description

Antique FOOD Bottle 1850s OPEN PONTIL Iridescent. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. What a BEAUTIFUL early food bottle this is!! It is a 6 1/4 inch opaque green wide mouth. Roughly 2 3/4 inches at the base with a nicely ground PONTIL. Perhaps one of our early PIONEERS picked berries and made some jam to put away WHO KNOWS!! At any rate when this jar was blown it picked up a bit of trash which is embedded in the glass. Nothing very significant but adds to the very early glass making process from over 160 years ago. A nice elongated bubble near the rolled lip. This early bottle has a few tiny black specks. There are no cracks or chips and clean and a BEAUTY!! The iridescence adds to this one and would make a nice addition to your collection!!
