A fine looking antique bottle with a GREAT LOOKING PICTURE of the Trade - Mark owl perched on crescent moon.   Bottle is FULLY embossed and the embossing is pretty down-home, 'the kind your Grandmother used ... '!   We've seen these bottles with different labels on them, fruit extracts, food coloring, and then there are also the round Olive bottles that have this same Owl Trade Mark embossed on the base of them.
A couple of cases of these bottles showed up in the Pacific Northwest some 30 + years ago, in the Spokane Washington -- Coeur D'Alene Idaho area, and we were able to get several at that time.   Now they have long been absorbed into collections and I am thinning out the last of mine.
This company started out in 1852 Chicago as the E. W. Gillett Co. and went on into the 1920's as the Sherer-Gillett Company, and after these I lose track of them.   They also packaged different spices up in great looking old orange and white colored tins, with this same owl-on-the-crescent-moon trade mark.   A nice looking bottle here and again, it is the kind your grandmother used,
