Here's an early hinge mold Civil War era Mitchell's Flavoring Extract bottle that just missed being pontiled.....D.MITCHELL'S FLAVORING EXTRACTS ROCHESTER N.Y.
(boldly emb on front) Hand blown in mold, bimal....crude rolled in lip....early smooth base with straight hinge mold seam.....clear....oval...4 3/4"tall....Excellent condition with no chips or damage. A dug bottle with normal light haze. We dug this one with pontiled bottles from an outhouse privy pit filled in before 1863 or so.
