    :   This jar is so dark purple it is hard to see the condition.  It look like it has age wear and patina, and some traces of lip roughness.   But actually there isn't anything significantly wrong with it NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc

    Nothing fancy, just a SUPER DEEP PURPLE, but otherwise unpretentious, little antique jar.  The amethyst color is so dark it is hard to look through it without holding it up to a light.
    It has NO lid but I am sure one could be taken from a newer jar or bottle and used to complete it.
    This jar was put on the roof of a shed for a summer to see if it is old enough to turn purple.  After a month, it turned a nice lavender color.  With very few exceptions only clear glass from before 1914 will turn purple (sun-colored-amethyst).
    So we had a friend run it through an industrial food sterilizer and in an instant it turned this dark purple.  Not only does this deep purple AMETHYST color make it a great looking jar but also authenticates it
    as being truly antique,
