Signed by Pleasant Rowland and Franz Gotz!

Relevant History:
Pleasant Rowland is the founder of Pleasant Company.  Franz Gotz and Marianne Gotz were the founders of Götz (also known as Goetz or Gotz), a German-based doll manufacturer and the first designers of the American Girl Doll line under Pleasant Company. Götz was the first designer and manufacturer of the initial release of the American Girl Historical dolls (Samantha, Kirsten, and Molly) and the designers of the limb molds and Classic Mold (from their “Romina” face mold), which Pleasant Company purchased from Gotz.  Gotz continued to manufacture dolls for American Girl in a limited capacity until approximately the early to mid 1990’s.
This Samantha Doll’s History:
This Samantha doll’s previous owner was an adult collector who had the pleasure of working seasonally at the Pleasant Company headquarters located in Madison, Wisconsin beginning in the late 1980’s until the early 1990’s!
At the time, one of the perks of working for Pleasant Company was that employees were given the opportunity to bring in their dolls to have them signed by Pleasant Rowland and the founders of the doll manufacturer, Franz (and sometimes Marianne) Gotz!
According to the initial owner’s personal records, this Samantha doll was signed on Tuesday, November 26, 1991
at a Pleasant Company Employee-Only doll signing event.

This Samantha doll is in EXCELLENT vintage condition!  Her body is clean, hair is shiny with wave/curls intact, eyes open and shut nicely and show no signs of silvering, and her limbs are sturdy.
It goes without saying that just by virtue of the uniqueness of this doll being signed by BOTH Pleasant Rowland and Franz Gotz…she is an absolute, hands down, collector’s dream!
This doll will be packaged and shipped with the utmost care and with adequate insurance.
