    Description

    Unnamed WW I, 4th Division, Recuperating/Wounded, Doughboy Postcard-sized Original Photograph, circa 1919.
This RPPC depicts what I believe is a 4th "Ivy" Division, AEF Doughboy, convalescing at Fort Sheridan, circa 1919.
The soldier is at an artist's easel working on an image of a WW I trench scene. He appears to have been wounded, or injured, in the foot as he's wearing an unusual moccasin-like foot covering instead of a shoe or boot.
The 4th Division shoulder patch, if that is what it is, is an unusual variant. One that I've not seen before. The collar disc appears to be that of the infantry. He also wears one gold overseas service chevron indicating that he served between one and six months overseas in Europe.
The image is inscribed "Fort Sheridan 1919".
The photograph is unposted and printed on U.S. photo stock.
This one-hundred, plus, postcard is in excellent condition. Additional information, or other high-resolution scans, can be provided upon request.
